Bachelor's study deals with design of a multifunctional building with prevailing residential function, complemented by cafe and architectural studio. Building plat is located in the gap in the Milada Horáková's street. The polyfunctional house neighbors with the important Art Nouveau building designed by an architect Josef Müller and modern residential house designed by an architect Dalibor Borak. Buildings site is important mainly due to the short distance from the city center. On the first floor is designed café and a passage that connects Milada Horaková's street with courtyard and is used as access to the living area of the house. The project of multifunctional building on Křížová street solves building over a gap at the end of the street next to the Mendel Square. The idea was to create a building that would usefully complement the existing block structure. The concept of urban multipurpose derives from the specific shape of the parcel as defined in the terms on which stands the main dark structure. This mass is penetrated by irregular cell structure of flats, which grid influences the whole interior layout. The whole building has four floors of underground parking, a ground floor with a café and shops and six floors of residential apartments from studio flats to 3 bedroom flats and luxury apartments on the roof.

Annen Gate
Illéš, Ján ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
A multifunctional city block is designed for the currently empty place in Brno, on the corner of Pekarská and Anenská streets. The urban, architectural and material-spatial solution tries to respect the scale and cultural-historical context of the place. The proposed main function of housing is enlivened by additional functions of administration and trade and services on the ground floor. The corner is an important compositional point and the proposed round and glazed shape of the building will form a visual dominant on the view from Pekarská Street. In the city block, the inner space of the courtyard is created, in which the historical heritage of the retaining wall of the hill on which the church once stood is presented. The passage through the city block is possible in the route of the former street U sv. Anny. The lack of green spaces in the courtyard is compensated by the creation of green roofs for residents and users. The architectural expression of the townhouse tries to follow the traditions of modernism, typical for the city of Brno.
